Swelling & Fluid Retention

Swelling and fluid retention can be caused by inactivity, lack of mobility or various chronic illnesses. This can lead to pain and a loss of mobility.

The lymphatic system interacts with the blood circulatory system to drain excess fluid from cells and tissues, and thus reduce swelling. If the lymphatic system is disrupted or damaged, it can lose this ability and the excess fluid will cause the tissue to swell.

Symptoms of swelling and fluid retention may include:

  • swelling in all or part of a limb, which can cause problems with wearing jewellery or watches, or fitting into clothes or shoes
  • heavy and aching feeling in the affected limb
  • loss of mobility in the affected limb
  • pain in the affected limb
  • painful joints, such as the elbow or knee, caused by swelling in the limb
  • repeated skin infections in the affected limb
  • the skin on the affected limb becoming hard and tight, and blisters or wart-like growths developing on the surface

There is no known cure for lymphoedema, a chronic condition that causes swelling in the body’s tissue, and other types of swelling. It is possible to control the symptoms using a combination of different techniques, such as skin care, compression garments, specific exercise / movements to try and maximise lymph drainage without over exertion and massage.

The Circulation Booster® v3 has been scientifically tested to see if it could help improve poor circulation, reduce swelling in your lower legs and feet and alleviate tired, heavy and aching legs. Our studies have shown that 40 minutes of inactivity in healthy people resulted in poor circulation and swelling. After using the Circulation Booster® v3 for only 10 minutes, this could be alleviated.

With daily use, the Circulation Booster® v3 could help maintain healthy circulation in your lower legs and feet & could provide fast acting relief from swollen feet and tired, aching legs.
